Cavitation only cleans surfaces the liquid can reach with sound energy. A part resting on the tank floor is not cleaned where it touches; parts stacked against each other are not cleaned where they meet; a part pressed against the tank wall can be both poorly cleaned and marked. Correct spacing and orientation frequently make more difference to the outcome than changing frequency or chemistry.
Holders are available for standard work and can be made for specific geometries — awkward shapes, delicate items that must not touch each other, and parts that need a particular orientation so trapped air can escape and liquid can drain. If cleaning results vary across a basket, fixturing is the first thing to examine.
