Three tanks run four functions in sequence: ultrasonic cleaning with filtration, rinsing, and drying. Parts go in dirty at one end and come out clean and dry at the other, without leaving the line.
This is the configuration most shops settle on once cleaning has become a fixed production step rather than an occasional task. It removes the two things that usually go wrong with split processes — parts waiting between stations and picking up contamination again, and inconsistent handling between operators.
Loading can be manual or automatic. Manual transfer keeps the investment lower and suits varied batches; automatic transfer makes sense when the same part family runs continuously and cycle time has to match a downstream operation. Tank dimensions are set by basket size and by how many parts per hour the line has to sustain.
